About Us
MERRIE K. DAY, Ph.D. LMFT
I bring to my work a commitment to help people create the lives that they want. Therapy is a co-creative process wherein you and I work together to help you choose what really will work for you in your life. The therapeutic relationship becomes a place to heal and remove old patterns of behavior and limiting thinking that no longer help you. Therapy sessions are safe, supportive, and yet challenging. I incorporate knowledge and skill from different psychological foundations: transpersonal, client-centered, family systems and phenomenological. I understand symptoms as the individual’s creativity in dealing with often overwhelming emotional pain. I am trained in a variety of techniques. “Talk therapy” helps individuals verbally express themselves, includes cognitive work, psycho-educational, connecting and validating work, and asserting oneself. Expressive therapies help you move into feeling states, reconnect with your inner resources, and express yourself. Relaxation develops breathing and imagery skills that help with managing stress and unwanted negative emotional states, helps you reconnect with inner resources, and helps you stay grounded and present in your life. EMDR is useful for both healing old pain, including removing negative thoughts and belief systems, and strengthening & installing positive emotional states such as mastery, competence, contentment, joy. Together, we will decide what course of therapy will work best for you.

KEN DRUMMY, LICSW
I hold a Masters in Social Work and am currently a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Washington in private practice. I am passionate about the change process and my great pleasure is helping teens and their parents navigate the often stormy seas of adolescence. I believe that your ability to maintain connected loving relationships with others, as well as oneself, is necessary for true success in life. I enjoy helping couples, families, stepfamilies and children of all ages create the changes they really want to live a more stress free enjoyable life.
I believe each of my clients deserves a specialized approach unique to their individual needs. Therefore therapy becomes a process whereby we co-create a treatment approach that is just right for you. I am not locked into any particular treatment modality, but rather, I am skilled in a variety of therapeutic methods. Some of my specialized training includes Choice Theory when working with adolescents, , blended and step families, Play Therapy (for children), Interactive Guided Imagery, Energy Psychology, and Gottman approaches for couples.
I have been in private practice for 21 years and a psychotherapist for 34 years. I would love to see if we could work together!
